Wintek is founded
Paul Wintz, a Purdue professor of Electrical Engineering, founds Wintek Corporation to provide what may have been the nation’s first: a short course on this fledgling new microcomputer technology. Wintek‘s three-day course cost $495 and included your very own 4½-by-6½-inch single-board computer based on the then-new Motorola 6800 chip.
The company also provides hardware, software and services spanning a spectrum of microprocessor applications.
